Gallery of the Earth Welcome to the Enchanted Forest! Living in the woods, we often see mice and the occasional rat scurrying around. In memory of those who have gotten into the house and been sent to their heavenly reward by my cats, I present The Pied Piper of Hamlin. In the tale, the city of Hamlin was overrun with rats. The piper agreed to remove all the rats from the city with the sound of his pipes. But when the city fathers refused to pay him, the Piper then took all the children. So the moral of this story is: always pay the Piper!! Artist's private collection The Medusa is a Gorgon, from Greek mythology, one of three sisters. Any mortal who looked into her face would be turned to stone. Alas, she was killed by the hero Perseus, and from her spilled blood came the winged horse Pegasus. Her body shape varies in mythology, but her snake hair is almost universal. This Medusa is about 13" tall, and she is weighted with small glass pellets to allow her to stand. She is made of velour and doe suede, and is adorned with a bone necklace; and of course, she has snakes in her hair. $160 Awakening from her winter sleep, the Dryad feels the warmth of the early spring sun. From Greek mythology, dryads are tree spirits often described as companions to Artemis, the Moon Goddess.
